Research interests: archaeological theory, paleodemography, neolithic, quantitative methods in archaeology
My research interests include evolutionary archaeology, paleodemography and the Balkan Neolithic. The focus of my research in the field of evolutionary archaeology is the application of quantitative models of cultural transmission in explaining patterns of formal variability of material culture in time and space. Demographic aspects play an important role in the evolutionary theory of culture so my second field of interest is the application and development of methods for the reconstruction of demographic aspects of past populations based on different classes of archaeological evidence. My empirical research is focused on the Balkan Neolithic, particularly on the problems related to demography, social structure and the anthropomorphic figurines.
